SCOPE

Space Group were appointed to refurbish Cranswick’s staff restaurant alongside demonstration kitchen design and install.

OVERVIEW

Space Group worked on the demonstration kitchen design to create an inclusive cooking area as well as providing a refreshed servery area for the staff canteen. Here is what Graeme Watson, the Group Engineering Director, has to say about the project:

“I would just like to say that it has proven to have been the right decision for Cranswick to partner with Space Group. We at Cranswick have delivered a state of the art poultry factory at our site in Eye in Suffolk. At £75m it has been Cranswick’s biggest single spend and the first of its kind in the UK for nearly 30 years. We have successfully created the right environment for our process, and needed someone else to assist us to create the right environment for our biggest asset, our workforce. Likewise,  Cranswick acknowledges that our staff spend a good part of their life at work and wanted to create the right environment for them when they spend their well earned breaks in a modern, ergonomic and pleasing environment.  We have now raised the bar and set the standard for the rest of the Cranswick group.”

Space Group’s Specialist Manufacturing team created bespoke kitchen benches and shelves back of house to accompany new front of house servery counters. In addition to the main servery counter, Space Group’s Specialist Manufacturing team also created an island counter and recycling & condiments counter, all featuring reclaimed timber fronts.

The Contract Furniture team provided and installed a bespoke poseur height timber and metal breakfast table with accompanying high stools, this was supplied alongside Lindsay side chairs and a bespoke timber and metal base table creating a comfortable environment for taste testing!
