Cheltenham Ladies College is one of the largest communities of boarding and day girls in Europe, today around 900 pupils from around the World attend the school. The high level of teaching and pastoral care is a key feature of the school, and Space were employed to update the staff room facilities.
Space provided a new interior scheme, specifying decorative wall finishes, new flooring, feature lighting and the furniture layout.
- Modular, upholstered furniture was incorporated to provide maximum flexibility.
- The client wanted a contemporary theme that was in keeping with the traditional feel of the college.
- The room suffered from dark areas so feature lighting was used to complement the scheme and clearly define specific areas.
- The layout was designed to be as versatile as possible to enable the room to be used for dining as well as meetings and social events.
