Space were given the opportunity to complete a full turnkey project for the new restaurant at the Poplars Garden Centre near Dunstable, Bedfordshire. The project meant taking responsibility for all the onsite project management including the restaurant interior design, the design fabrication, supply and fit of the custom-made service counters and extension of the production kitchen. It also incorporated the design and supply of all of the restaurant furniture.
The new extended restaurant has over 300 covers and a completely new food offering with everything from a full carvery, freshly made pizzas and paninis, salad bar to tikka masala and sweet and sour pork. With this kind of complex offering it was critical that Space worked very closely with the Poplars project director to fully understand the brief, translating it into a great looking and practical environment for Poplars’ many customers.
The final contemporary design includes a fun and colorful kids area where young families can have their lunch surrounded by wall murals and sit on brightly coloured chairs and tables. There is also a more relaxed area with an inviting coffee shop where Poplars customers can sit back and enjoy all of the great food on offer.
